Egyptian governmental data revealed that the Arab countries topped the geographical blocs that imported agricultural commodities and agricultural products from Egypt during the export season that began in September 2022 and ended in April 2023.
The data revealed that the Arab countries imported 1.730 million tons, at a value of $938 million, representing 41% in quantity and 38% in value.
The data added that the European Union countries ranked second with a quantity of 951,000 tons, at a value of $579 million, with an import rate of 23% for the quantity and 23% for the value.
While countries outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, ranked third, as they imported 849,000 tons from Egypt, at a value of $589 million.
As for Asian countries, they ranked fourth with 508,000 tons at a value of $274 million.
The countries of the Americas and Australia came in fifth place, with a quantity of 76,000 tons, at a value of $67 million, and finally, African countries, with a quantity of 59,000 tons, at a value of $30 million.
