Yehya El Bissat, known for his single, long-standing Saida supermarket, has just begun its nationwide expansion. His company recently opened two branches in Sodeco and Nabatieh under the new brand name, Redy Supermarket.
The anchor supermarket is at The Spot Nabatieh, with a space of over 3,000 square meters. “The grand opening of this fully serviced branch is next week,” said Sleiman Makary, Commercial Manager at Retail Pioneer, a company created by El Bissat to manage the chain. The company also rented a warehouse in the area to store products. The outlet is served by a private parking for 200 vehicles.
The supermarket had opened its first branch as a convenience store in Sodeco two months ago, with a space of around 600 m2.
“We are planning to open between seven and ten other branches in the next few years,” Makary said. The company is scouting locations in Beirut and the South to open the other branches.
Redy Supermarket will also introduce an affordable private label for various products. “We already have one for legumes,” he said.
Investments in the two branches have so far exceeded $7 million, according to Makary.
