Egyptian building materials production jumped in May 2016, reaching $480.2 million (EGP4.2bn) – 86 percent increase compared to the same period in 2015.
The Egyptian market is experiencing a growth in the public construction field thanks to the large projects implemented by the Engineering Authority of Armed Forces, who depend on Egyptian contracting firms, according to Amwal Al Ghad.
Some of these large projects include new roads and bridges, thousands of housing units, and power plants.
Chairman Gamal Eldin pointed out that these large projects positively affected the building materials sector as production and sales volume in the local market go up.
