The Iraqi Ministry of Housing and Construction has announced that the construction of 12 strategic bridges on the rivers Tigris and Euphrates has begun in different areas of Iraq.
A statement made by Mohammed Sahib al-Draji, the Minister for Housing and Construction has revealed that the General Authority for Roads and Bridges has started to build the bridges and the project will cost more than 320 billion dinars or $275 million.
Three of these bridges are in Basra, three in Anbar, two each in Salaheddine and Diyala and one each in Maysan and Wasit.
According to the statement made by al-Draji, the bridges will solve the traffic jams and problems.
