Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) said it has secured a construction contract worth Dh430 million ($120 million) from Deira Waterfront Development for its key project in Dubai.
As per the deal, the CSCEC will develop Plot 9 and 10 in the Phase One of Deira Waterfront Development located along Al Rasheed Road (Dubai Corniche), in close vicinity of some most famous local scenic spots, such as Dubai Museum and Gold Souk.
The major scope of work includes structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing), fitting out, landscaping as well as other related external auxiliary works.
The mega-development, which spans over 5 km of waterfront, is located in the northern part of Deira District, facing the Deira Islands.
The project’s master plan envisages the expansion of the Deira Waterfront in two phases, making it the centerpiece of the district. The plan includes many new retail spaces, from shops to storage areas, and a strip of restaurants and retail stores along the creek, creating a bustling promenade with a range of hotels, said the developer.
The project will also boast community components such as plazas, parks, bicycle routes, and transportation hubs. The existing retail shops, hotels, commercial zones, parking garages, and storage areas will also be improved to fit the description of mixed-use development, it added.
