Prime Minister Hassan Diab held a meeting with a delegation from the French oil and gas company Total, as the supply ship for the exploration arrived, Wednesday at the Grand Serail.
Representatives of Total – one of the three consortium companies which will explore for gas off the Lebanese coast – discussed the company’s work in Lebanon, in addition to the state of the fuel sector amid the exploration plan.
The exploration was set to start at the end of 2019 but has been delayed because the drilling ship had not arrived yet.
The Prime Minister also met with the head of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration Walid Nasr and discussed the work of the administration to implement the oil and gas exploration plan.
Environment Minister Damianos Kattar and Energy Minister Raymond Ghajar were also present at the meetings.
