the German machinery trade association wish to continue building their business relationship with Iran, assisted by the lifting of sanctions involved in the nuclear deal.
This was decided after the presidential election in Iran on 19th May.
Machine exports from Germany to Iran rose by 37 per cent to $759 million (£590 million, €680 million).
Ulrich Ackermann, Head of VDMA Foreign Trade, said: "This is a respectable result in these circumstances.”
President Hassan Rouhani won the election which was held on the 19th May, defeating Ebrahim Raisi, and is expected to continue economic opening of the country, which will assist trade with Germany.
