The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi revealed that the total cost of establishing 40 bridges in east Cairo reached E£16 billion, according to state TV.
The cost of each bridge ranges between E£300 million and E£400 million, Sisi noted.
This came during a celebration of the conclusion of drilling at the Suez Canal’s Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel 2, set to be opened in July 2021.
Meanwhile, Egypt Today reported that authorities were finalizing the third metro line in Greater Cairo. With this, the number of metro lines connecting Giza, Cairo, and Qalyoubeya together will become six by 2030, it stated.
The Egyptian Ministry of Housing and New Urban Communities Authority (Nuca) had earlier announced that work was on roads and bridges project worth in New Alamein City at a combined cost of E£2.54 billion.
The projects include rerouting the 38-km long International Coastal Road (Alexandria – Matrouh) which is likely to be completed next month.
