Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, received a report from Mohamed El Mansy, Head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, detailing the country’s agricultural export performance from 1 January to 16 October 2024.
During this period, Egypt exported over 6.9 million tonnes of agricultural products, valued at around $4.04 billion, reflecting an increase of $980 million and over 574,000 tonnes compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
Top exports included citrus fruits, fresh potatoes, onions, grapes, beans, sweet potatoes, mangoes, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, guavas, and pomegranates. Citrus fruits led the list with 2.27 million tonnes, followed by 973,130 tonnes of potatoes and 281,785 tonnes of onions. Grapes, beans, and mangoes were among the other notable exports, contributing to the growth in agricultural trade.
