Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmad bin Jassem Al Thani inaugurated on Tuesday Qatar Hospitality 2016 exhibition.
The three-day event, taking place at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), gathered 132 firms from 10 countries, including eight from Kuwait.
The gathering provides a platform for businesses in such fields as hotels, restaurants and cafes as well as franchise investors to display their products and exchange their expertise, Sheikh Ahmad bin Jassim told reporters. Qatar's tourism and hospitality sectors have seen significant growth in recent years, to Qatar News Agency (QNA) quoted the minister as saying after inspecting the exhibition.
He attributed the strong growth to the commitment of the State of Qatar to that sector, reflected in launching a national strategy for the tourism sector 2030. The exhibition helps boost the role of Qatar in the field of investing in the Middle-East and North Africa's hospitality sector, the minister added.
Kuwait's pavilion, sponsored by the Public Authority for Industry. showcases the products of AI-Rawdatain water bottling Co., Kuwait Packing Materials Manufacturing Co., Final Touches Co. Al Khateeb Industry Co., Food Industries Co. (FICO), Osaka International Group, the National Textiles Co., and the Arabian Beverage Co.
