Celebrating its 10th edition, IFP Iraq, organizers of Erbil International Fair held a special gala dinner on Tuesday, 9 December at Erbil Rotana Hotel to honor dignitaries, companies and countries that supported the show during the past years.
The ceremony was attended by a number of KRG ministers and officials including the Minister of Trade and Industry, Samal Sardar, the Minister of Construction and Housing, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, the Minister of Electricity Salahaddin Babakir, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Abdul Majid Satar, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations Falah Mustafa Bakir, the representative of the Minister of Health, Dr. Saadoun al-Abdullah, the Governor of Erbil Nawzad Hadi, the Chairman of the Kurdistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Dara Jalil Khayat, General Supervisor of Erbil International Fair, Mr. Abdallah Abdul Rahman, in addition to many ambassadors, diplomats and international business delegations.
Opening the ceremony, General Supervisor of Erbil International Fair, Mr. Abdallah Abdul Rahman said that the Erbil International Fair creates important business opportunities gathering large number of international companies interested to enter the Iraqi market through agents and distributors and local partnerships. Abdul Rahman added that the EIF plays a remarkable role in creating business and investment opportunities for local and international traders, in addition to promoting trade relations between Iraq and many countries around the world through the city of Erbil, the world's commercial gateway to Iraq.
In his speech, Fadi Darwiche the General Manager of IFP Iraq, thanked and welcomed all the honored guests for their contribution to the success of the show throughout the years, stressing that IFP will continue developing new initiatives in order to give further impetus to trade and investment activities in the Kurdistan region, and in other Iraqi provinces.
Speeches were also given by the Governor of Erbil, Nawzad Hadi, Minister of Trade and Industry, Samal Sardar, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Abdul Majid Satar, the Minister of Electricity Salahaddin Babakir, and the Minister of Construction and Housing Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, all of which focused on the importance of the exhibition and similar events in promoting trade and investment in the region.
On this occasion, honorary shields were delivered to dignitaries who supported the show over the years including the Ministers of Trade and Industry, Construction and Housing, Electricity, Agriculture And Water Resources, Health, the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, the Governor of Erbil, the Chairman of the Kurdistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the General Supervisor of Erbil International Fair. Honorary shields were also delivered to the Turkish, Iranian, French, German, and Czech, and Jordanian pavilions in addition to more than 20 local companies for their sponsorship and continuous participation in the exhibition.
