As the world gets ready to descend upon Doha for the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2012 (COP18/CMP8), Qatar’s leading government organizations and private companies are preparing to showcase their sustainability programs at the Qatar Sustainability Expo (QSE). Held on the same dates as COP18/CMP8, QSE offers businesses a unique opportunity to connect with about 17,000 world leaders, environmental experts, business leaders and others who will be visiting Doha for the conference.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, president of the UN Climate Change Conference 2012 – COP18/CMP8 Doha and overseen by the Ministry of Environment, Qatar Sustainability Expo is organized by International Fairs and Promotions (IFP Qatar). It is the only such exhibition running concurrent to the COP18/CMP8 conference from 26th November to 7th December 2012.
“Exhibition space at QSE is available for the moment, but the best stands are being booked quickly,” says Nicole Laporte, Project Manager, IFP Qatar. “It is a ‘first come first served’ deal, so those who act first naturally get the most visible and desirable locations.”
Hosted at Doha Exhibition Center, QSE will be open from 11 am to 9 pm on all days. Official shuttle buses will transport the delegates from the COP18/CMP8 conference at Qatar National Convention Center and the city’s hotels to Qatar Sustainability Expo and back.
QSE is Qatar’s opportunity to tell its sustainability story to the world. “In a region where ‘sustainability’ is a concept that is still gaining traction, QSE serves as a powerful platform to involve key stakeholders from the public and private sector in the global environment dialog as well as get buy-in from a wider audience,” says Laporte.
QSE will receive extensive regional and global media coverage from thousands of international media networks and major news organizations.
