In a bid to attract new investments in food sector to support the self-sufficiency plans, Hospitality Qatar 2017 is poised to launch Food Qatar platform in support of national efforts to serve the growth of the food and catering industry in Qatar.
Investors are now looking for opportunities in food sector in Qatar, in conjunction with efforts to increase the local productions based on new technology projects to serve strategic inventory to meet the local food demand.
Food Qatar is particularly important as a strategic platform to strengthen communication between local, regional and international food producers with buyers in the Qatari market, particularly from the hospitality sector, which is expected to grow by 10 percent to reach $1.6 billion by 2020.
The importance of Food Qatar stems from its potential role in opening new investment horizons to meet growing local food demand, in line with the Qatari government's plans to reduce dependence on food imports.
Food Qatar is a major event on the agenda of Hospitality Qatar 2017, which will be held from November 7 to November 9 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The exhibition will host leading investors, designers, experts, suppliers, investors in the hospitality, hotels, restaurants, cafes and franchises sectors to showcase the latest products related to hospitality and service offerings, as well as explore new and rewarding business and investment opportunities.
Hospitality Qatar 2017 will feature an exhibition zone, a B2B program, educational workshops and simultaneous events and activities, allowing visitors and participants to experience a 360-degree coverage of all aspects of the Hotel/Restaurant/Café, F&B and hospitality investment markets. This year, Hospitality Qatar is also introducing a new addition called HQ – Food Qatar, a platform designed to serve Qatar’s food and catering industry. The three-day show will be composed of three zones; Food & Beverage, Supply & Design, and Hotel & Franchise Investment.
Exciting events to look out for include the Salon Culinaire, a Live Cooking Competition and a Mocktail Competition.
