Iranian Deputy Trade Minister Mehdi Karbasian announced that a contract has been signed between the ministry and Germany on the construction of an Alumina Powder Production company in Sarab, East Azarbaijan province.
Karbasian said the implementation of the 9.3 million-euro project in the country would lead to producing an additional 200,000 tons of Alumina Powder, as raw material for producing Aluminum bars.
He said the project is predicted to be completed within eight months and once completed it is expected to lead to direct employment of 2,000 persons and indirect employment of 10,000 others.
Iran and Germany have tried to expand their bilateral relations in recent years through mutual visits by the two countries' officials.
