Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) recorded 52.7 million passengers in 2024, a 15% increase compared to 2023, the airport announced on Monday.
Aircraft movements at HIA rose by 10%, reaching 279,000, while passenger traffic to China experienced an 87% surge. Cargo operations also saw growth, with 2.6 million tonnes handled and 41.3 million bags transferred over the year.
“These achievements underscore our operational efficiency, dedication to innovation, and commitment to providing an outstanding passenger experience,” said Hamad Ali Al-Khater, Chief Operating Officer of HIA.
Awarded the title of the world’s best airport by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2024, HIA has expanded its network to include 197 global destinations.
