Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has laid the foundation stone for the Al-Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant project in Dhi Qar Province.
The 921-megawatt facility, fueled by natural gas, is being developed by Germany’s Siemens and Turkey’s Enka, on the site of the existing Al-Nasiriyah Steam Power Plant.
The project aims to strengthen Iraq’s electricity generation capacity and includes the potential for future integration of hydrogen blending technology.
