Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq has transformed into a promising and appealing environment for investment, highlighting that women’s involvement in the investment sector strengthens their contribution to development.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Prime Minister’s Media Office reported that “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Sheikha Fatima bint Hashr Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Emirati Sawaed Al Khair Association, and her accompanying delegation.”
Al-Sudani welcomed the visit, which aims to foster mutual understanding and expand cooperation and bilateral relations between Iraq and the UAE. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing all necessary support to advance relations across various sectors.
The statement noted that Al-Sudani pointed out “Iraq’s transformation into an encouraging and attractive environment for investment, driven by its tangible assets and opportunities.” He also stressed that “women’s participation in the investment and business sectors enhances their role in nation-building and achieving development.”
Sheikha Fatima Al Maktoum, for her part, expressed her appreciation for the Iraqi government’s initiatives to support women and prepare them for entry into the workforce. She affirmed her dedication to establishing a charitable center in Baghdad aimed at rehabilitating people of determination, reflecting her leadership in humanitarian efforts. Al-Sudani expressed his support for this initiative and directed the removal of any obstacles to ensure the project’s completion.
