Jordan’s Energy Minister Hala Zawati announced an agreement with the Iraqi side to provide Iraq with electricity in return for providing Jordan with about 7% of its daily need of oil.
The two sides agree that Jordan will provide Iraq with energy through electricity linkage, Zawati said, adding that technical studies will be conducted and funding will be provided to start implementing the project within three months.
She also expected that Jordan will start exporting electricity to Iraq in less than two years.
