Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Health (MoH) of Kurdistan Region of Iraq, yesterday IFP Iraq announced the opening of the 4th International Healthcare Exhibition & Conference Serving Iraq (Iraq Medicare) at the Erbil International Fair Grounds. The Fair Grounds will host the event from May 27 to May 29, 2013.
Attending the opening ceremony were Salah Sheber adviser to MoH of the Kurdistan Region on behalf of the Ministry; the region’s representative at Iraq’s Ministry of Health Azzeddin Noureddin; General Manager of the Erbil International Fair Grounds, Mr. Abdallah Abdel Rahim; high-ranking Iraqi healthcare sector government officials; representatives of neighboring countries; a host of diplomats and notable figures, journalists and media representatives.
Sheber delivered a speech on this occasion, saying “Developing the healthcare sector for the benefit of patients and citizens is among the top priorities of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Even if this task falls under the responsibility of the MoH, the private sector still has an important role to play in supporting the efforts of the MoH. For its part, the MoH supports this event to the highest degree.”
For his part, IFP Iraq General Manager, Fady Darwiche said, “The fourth Edition of Iraq Medicare comes after the resounding success of last year’s edition and the large number of visitors who visited the fair, covering all specialties. The total surface area of this year’s exhibition increased by twenty percent; a fact reflected by the participation of more than one hundred and fifty exhibitors from 19 countries.”
The fair showcases a wide selection of healthcare equipment and products as well as various medical services and solutions that among others cater to the needs of hospitals, clinics, specialized centers, and laboratories. Visitors, both specialized and those working in the medical field, will be presented with the opportunity to discover a multitude of sophisticated medical services and technologies, which have entered the Iraqi market for the first time in addition to other related services such as health insurance programs, education and training programs, and much more.
Iraq Medicare 2013 provides a unique opportunity to discover the latest developments in the healthcare sector in Iraq. This exhibition also provides a fertile ground for physicians, pharmacists, laboratory specialists, and directors of hospitals and healthcare centers to discover the future trends the government wishes to introduce to the sector by meeting decision makers and officials present at the event.
According to the organizers, the exhibition is expected to attract around 15,000 visitors, including representatives and experts from both the public and private sectors, and who have a unique opportunity to network with a large number of companies and healthcare providers gathered under the same roof. This event provides an exceptional business environment that is not available at any other specialized event in the healthcare sector in Iraq.
