Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has launched the Residential City Development Project in Nahrawan, Baghdad, spanning 24,197 donums (approximately 6,000 hectares or 15,000 acres). The initiative aims to provide serviced residential plots for Ministry of Defense personnel and is managed by Dubai-based World Legend Contracting.
During the launch ceremony, the Prime Minister distributed land title deeds to the families of armed forces martyrs and announced plans to expand the initiative to other provinces and security agencies. The project will include essential infrastructure such as schools, healthcare centers, and public service offices.
Al-Sudani emphasized that real estate developers will oversee construction under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities.
Key Highlights from the Prime Minister’s Speech:
- Expansion of serviced residential plots to additional provinces and security agencies.
- New housing projects include Al-Ghazlani City (Mosul), a new city in Basra, and the recently inaugurated 6th of January City (Taji).
