The Electricity Minister disclosed that Iraq is attempting to reach production levels of 20,000 megawatts of electricity by developing the production, transport and distribution sectors.
Spokesman Mus'ab al-Mudaris quoted Minister Kareem Aftan al-Jumaili saying that the Ministry has plans to increase electricity production to 20,000 megawatts, including the production of 13,0000 megawatts through electrical gas stations.
In a ceremony at the Ministry, Jumaili pointed out the plans of the ministry to "add 15,000 megawatts by the end of 2014 in two stages."
Jumaily added that Iraq plans to use 10 solar stations to be given to international companies for implementation.
