Iraqi deputy premier for energy affairs stated, in a lecture in Mumbai, India, that Iraq will be the main supplier in the coming two decades.
Shahristani made a lecture at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Mumbai, India.
Talking to a number of companies and businessmen in the energy field, he pointed out that "India could depend on Iraq to meet its increasing needs of oil for a long time"; adding the Asian and Middle East companies will be the major markets for Iraqi oil".
Iraq is trying through international oil bids to increase its production from 3 million b/d to five in less than three years.
