OPEC member Iraq has awarded a contract for the construction of a massive medical-sport university city in the capital Baghdad within post-war reconstruction plans, the official Alsabah newspaper reported on Sunday.
The project comprises a university, colleges, 18 clinics, laboratories, Olympic stadiums, swimming pools, and other medical and sports facilities, the paper said, quoting Chairman of Baghdad’s Investment Commission Shakir Al-Zamli.
“The project will be set up at Muthanna airbase in Baghdad..it is intended to support the medical and sport sector in the country and improve services to citizens,” Zamli said.
