Premier Nouri al-Maliki called the Parliament to allocate $37 billion for the infrastructure, according to parliamentary media sources.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that premier Maliki demanded this figure for reconstruction projects, including railways, airports, port, schools and housing units.
Earlier, MP Abdul Salam al-Maliki said that "these projects will not be a burden on the government's budget, because $70 billion were allocated in the previous parliamentary session, but was decreased to $37 billion".
Premier was expected to point out the need for 2 million housing units, 60 hospitals and clinics, 2000 schools out of 5000, roads, bridges, universities and airports, as reported by MP Maliki.
