Shafaq News – Iraq’s Ministry of Health has signed a cooperation agreement with the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi to advance the country’s healthcare and public awareness sector.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Health Minister Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi and French Ambassador to Iraq Patrick Dorrell, falls under the framework of the “Imkan” program and introduces an “innovative model for public-private partnerships,” according to an official statement from the ministry.
Minister Al-Hasnawi emphasized that this collaboration represents a key step in strengthening Iraq’s healthcare system. He underscored the importance of strategic partnerships with global leaders in the medical field to deliver sustainable and integrated healthcare solutions.
French Ambassador Dorrell highlighted the agreement as a milestone in Franco-Iraqi relations in the healthcare sector. He reiterated Sanofi’s commitment to supporting Iraq’s healthcare development and enhancing medical services for its citizens.
Rami Nassar, Head of the Middle East Pharmaceutical Unit and Sanofi’s Regional Director in Jordan, stated that the partnership under the “Imkan” program reflects the company’s dedication to working with Iraq’s health authorities to enhance the skills of doctors and nurses.
