The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) will showcase major companies at the Italian Pavilion during Project Qatar 2017, slated for May 8 to 11 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, it was announced.
The ITA said Italy is a regular participant of the annual event, and is “one of the largest European delegation” present at Project Qatar.
“The Italian Pavilion offers Italian exhibitors a joint communication platform under a national umbrella (Italia), giving more visibility to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and information about Italian products and services.
“This will have a huge impact on raising the ‘Made in Italy’ awareness and improving business relations between both countries. It will also be a great opportunity to introduce products with ‘Italian Excellence’,” the ITA said.
The pavilion will also see the participation of CNAPPC, the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservationists, which was formed by the Italian Ministry of Justice; Marchet, the agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Ancona; Promex, the internationalisation department at the Padova Chamber of Commerce, which was established to help local businesses branch into the global market; and Sidi Eurosportello, the agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Ravenna.
The ITA is a government agency that supports the globalization of Italian firms and implements the strategies of the Ministry of Economic Development. It helps to facilitate, develop, and promote Italian economic and trade relations with foreign countries, focusing on the needs of SMEs and their associations and partnerships.
In 2015, the ITA in Doha created a dedicated ‘desk’ called ‘Italy for World Cup 2022’ to focus on infrastructure and raise awareness on business opportunities in the construction field. The desk also aims to inform Italian companies about major ongoing or planned projects by giving details on tenders and news about events in the country.
The 14th edition of Project Qatar will mark ITA Doha Office’s fourth year, with 35 exhibitors participating in the event. “Italy will be one of Europe’s most represented countries during the event,” the ITA said.
