Kuwait has unveiled plans for a massive $3.3 billion economic city project, featuring over 22,000 residential units, hotels, and other essential amenities, Al-Qabas reported. Located in Abdali near the Iraqi border, the development aims to transform the area into a dynamic urban center, accommodating more than 35,000 people across 5 square kilometers and providing infrastructure for roads, schools, hospitals, offices, and industrial spaces.
The OPEC member nation is expected to invite bids soon, with potential prioritization for Chinese firms, following recent agreements between the two countries on cooperation in free zones and economic city projects. The project’s feasibility study is near completion, marking a significant step forward for a plan that has been in consideration for years.
