Lebanon maintained steady growth over the past 3 years (averaging 7.5% annually) thanks to a resilient economy favoring foreign direct investments despite the changes in the Arab World. The strength of the construction sector is evident in the many construction sites that are visible, not only in Beirut but at locations all around the country. The number of construction permits issued continues to rise as does the number of deliveries of cement and imports of industrial machinery.
Yet, the Lebanese real estate sector remains strong thanks to compelling fundamentals and a national preference for investing in real estate. Sustained demand for property inside Beirut, combined with a tightness of land plots in the capital, continues to provide support for land prices. The value of property sales grew by an average of 17% in 2011, while construction activity was particularly strong, driven in part by the demands of the tourist industry for increased infrastructure.
Project Lebanon is the premier event of its kind in the region bringing together industry leaders from around the world and is the ideal venue for all those in the construction industry who wish to network with their fellow professionals, learn about the latest trends in the industry, establish new contacts or renew existing partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
Project Lebanon has reached an unmatched capacity to support the local construction sector and to consolidate the international presence in the local and regional markets, thanks to its rapid growth on all levels and the international reputation it has acquired in recent years. The event will allow for unique face-to-face networking opportunities with a high quality audience and enable participants to establish new contacts, renew existing partnerships, and explore new business opportunities.
This year, the show is strategically designed to offer more focus on the core industries related to the construction sector. Thanks to its new comprehensive and industry-specific format, Project Lebanon 2012 will be an ideal meeting place for a larger number of players in the field to find better solutions and more lucrative prospects by sharing common interests and a similar vision.
Moreover, Project Lebanon is an important reference point for all those involved in the construction industry. Local companies will have the opportunity to exhibit alongside international organizations, showcase their products to an international audience and increase their market presence. Regional and international companies will have a unique opportunity to penetrate the local market and sign licensing and distribution agreements for their products and services.
In the 2011 edition, 827 exhibiting companies from over 25 countries showcased their latest products & services to over 24,000 visitors.
