Cabinet met Thursday to resume discussions on the 2019 draft budget amid a “positive atmosphere,” according to Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil.
Prime Minister Saad Hariri chaired the session, held at the Grand Serail, in which ministers were expected to focus on budget allocations for ministries and public administrations.
“We will likely finish discussions on the budget tomorrow [Friday],” Khalil said to local media as he headed to the session.
Thursday’s session was the eighth Cabinet meeting on the budget. Ministers have been holding consecutive meetings since last week in an attempt to approve the budget before referring it to Parliament for endorsement.
