L&T Oman, a subsidiary of India-based technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company Larsen & Toubro, has won a major order from Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communications for the construction of a new passenger terminal and other key facilities at Duqm Airport in the country.
The scope of work includes constructing a modern passenger terminal building with a capacity to handle 500,000 passengers per annum, a 37-m-high air traffic control tower, and an air cargo terminal equipped to handle 25,000 tonnes of cargo per annum, said a statement from L&T.
The company also bagged an order from Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran), the sultanate’s leading tourism and mega real-estate developer, for the turnkey construction of a four-star hotel at Oman Exhibition and Convention Centre (OECC).
With this win, the total orders clinched by the construction giant for this month both in the Indian and international markets has hit Rs2521 crore ($398 million).
In its domestic market, L&T said it has secured a major order from a leading developer for the design and construction of residential apartments in the city of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. The scope of works includes civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finishing works.
Another order has been received from a reputed client for the construction of 10 high-end residential towers in Mumbai. The scope includes civil, structure and associated works, it added.
