Malaysia is one of the major exhibitors at Project Iraq 2013 that has doubled its participation compared to show’s last year edition. This year, the Malaysian pavilion includes 17 companies from oil and gas, construction sectors. “All companies are participating under the umbrella of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)," said the Senior Trade Commissioner in the commercial section of the Malaysian Consulate General in Dubai Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.
Talking about future projects in Iraq and its north region, the Malaysian Trade Commissioner said that next year his country will encourage more companies from various economic sectors to take part in this exhibition. “When the KRG’s Minister of Construction and Housing paid a visit to our pavilion, he urged Malaysian companies to get more involved in the reconstruction efforts of his country. And this gives us confidence that we can be part of this developing market,” he added.
