The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Public Parks Department, has allocated about QR750m for beautification and landscaping projects.
The Ministry said in a statement that the projects will be implemented in two parts in the coming years, reflecting positively on the cultural and aesthetic image of the city of Doha.
The Ministry has floated first tender of about QR250m to beautify seven main streets in the city of Doha including Anaiza, Beheira, Jalai’a, Khalifa, Al Markhia, Al Dahil and Qatifiyah.
The project includes full beautification, plantation, landscaping, sidewalks, interlock, pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, electric poles and many more.
The second part of the project includes projects worth about QR500m, to complete the rest of the projects in coordinated with the Public Works Authority. The local contractors will implement the project.
Under the plan, four projects will be implemented to build two new public parks in Al Gharafah and Umm Sanim and renovate two existing parks – Rawdat Al Khail Park and Ras Abu Abbud Park.
A special team was set up at the Public Park Department to oversee the projects of public parks and contracts for beautification in coordination with the supervisory committee for the beautification of roads and public places in the country.
