Masen, Morocco's agency for solar power, has invited bids from February 1 for the development of the first phase of the Noor Midelt solar power project, according to a report.
The NoorMidelt or NoorM I, as the agency calls it, will comprise one or several power plants with a hybrid technology, combining concentrated solar power (CSP) with photovoltaics (PV), said the SeeNews report.
The total capacity is planned at 400 MW, it said.
The project will be implemented under the independent power producer (IPP) scheme.
The developers will be selected through an international tender with several stages including the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the power plants, said the report.
The financial close is expected to occur next year with construction works starting by the end of the same year, it added.
