We had the following interview with Hamad Al Naimi, the General Manager of Octagone.
1) How many years have you been participating in Project Qatar?
We first participated in Project Qatar in 2005, coinciding with our establishment in Qatar. The exhibition was, and continues to be known as a gateway to the Gulf, and also shares our commitment towards continuous innovation. The technology and insights featured at Project Qatar each year directly benefit our operations in Qatar and the region. This year, we had the opportunity to network with an even larger group of companies and brands from around the world, largely due to the B2B matchmaking meetings hosted at Project Qatar.
2) Why do you think Project Qatar is one of the most important exhibitions in the region?
We have partnered with IFP Qatar LLC for more than ten years, and have been present at Project Qatar since 2005. Each year, the exhibition enabled us to network with experienced professionals and exhibitors, providing us with an opportunity to secure deals. Located in Qatar, with its vibrant economy and construction sector, Project Qatar continues to serve as an important gateway to the Gulf, showcasing the technology that fosters innovation.
3) What differences have you seen since you first started exhibiting at Project Qatar. How has the exhibition improved in 2015?
Our experience at Project Qatar has evolved with each year. The number of visitors and exhibitors as well as the companies and brands represented has increased steadily. We have also been able to participate in a wide range of specialized conferences, concurrent events and workshops on trending themes. Over the years, we have come to especially value B2B matchmaking meetings, which have proven to strengthen our network and business.
4) What do you look forward to the most at Project Qatar each year?
Project Qatar appeals to us because of its breadth of offerings and experiences. The combination of state-of-the-art technology, important insights and select conferences, events and workshops is what turns Project Qatar into one of the most rewarding regional exhibitions. And of course, we always look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand.
5) What kind of visitors come to your stand?
Our visitors were as diverse as the offerings and activities featured at Project Qatar. Generally, we hosted professionals from a wide range of sectors, in addition to industry experts and policy makers. Through these interactions, we were able to learn from our visitors, be it in regard to technology or industry trends, and were also able to share our products and services with visitors, reflecting our commitment to meet customer needs.
This year, we further enhanced the experience of those visiting our stand by ensuring that it is 70 percent environmentally friendly – optimizing both the materials and substances used. In fact, we may be the only company that has realized this idea at the exhibition, and received positive feedback from our visitors. Sustainability really is integral to the industry.
