Musandam is witnessing accelerated development in housing and urban planning, as part of Oman’s broader infrastructure enhancement and economic growth initiatives, reports Muscat Daily. The government’s efforts to upgrade Musandam’s urban strategy align with national development goals.
In the first half of 2024, the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Musandam signed 19 usufruct agreements with private companies, totaling over USD 150,000. These investments span sectors such as industry, agriculture, and quarries.
Governor Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed al Busaidi highlighted the importance of expanding services throughout the governorate, announcing the establishment of a new housing and urban planning office in Madha. Real estate transactions in Musandam exceeded USD 13 million in the first half of 2024, with a 5.2% increase in foreign real estate trading in the second quarter.
Notable projects include a USD 11 million integrated residential plan in Kumzar village, featuring 150 residential plots and essential community facilities. Additionally, the Nakheel Hills development will provide 536 residential units with an investment of over USD 182 million. An urban renewal project is also underway in Dibba, spanning more than 672,000 sqm.
These projects aim to modernize living environments while addressing the housing needs of Musandam’s growing population.
