The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is advancing its commitment to sustainable urban development through a strategic vision focused on meeting citizens’ needs and improving quality of life in Oman.
As part of the 2024 initiative “Determination to Implement,” the country has shifted from planning to execution, ensuring that ongoing projects align with Oman Vision 2040. This vision prioritizes human-centered development, aiming to accelerate progress in the housing and urban planning sectors for thriving communities.
Oman’s real estate sector has experienced significant growth, with the total value of real estate transactions reaching $8.6 billion, a 29.5% increase—the highest in four years. Foreign real estate investments surpassed $202 million, reflecting a 19.4% growth compared to 2023, while Gulf investments totaled $99 million, marking a 14.1% increase over the same period.
Reaffirming its commitment to addressing housing demands, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed eight partnership and development agreements to implement integrated residential neighborhoods and housing plans across multiple governorates. These agreements represent an investment exceeding $176 million, covering over 1.7 million square meters.
These projects aim to provide affordable housing solutions for eligible citizens within fully serviced communities, fostering social stability while enhancing real estate investment opportunities in Oman.
To support the development of sustainable residential neighborhoods, four agreements have been signed for projects that will deliver over 1,300 housing units, equipped with modern amenities such as commercial centers, recreational facilities, and green spaces. These developments are designed to cultivate inclusive and dynamic living environments.
