The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology has signed three strategic agreements aimed at improving road infrastructure and enhancing ports and maritime services.
Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, signed the agreements, which cover key development projects:
- Roads: A 30-km Izki-Nizwa dual carriageway project in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, awarded to Galfar Engineering and Contracting.
- Ports: A partnership with Manji International Ports to design, construct, manage, and operate a port for quarry product transport in the Wilayat of Shaleem W’Al Halaniyat Islands.
- Maritime Services: An investment framework with Omani Integrated Logistic Services (ILS Oman) for operating, managing, and developing ship supply and crew change activities at Port Sultan Qaboos, supporting its transformation into a commercial and tourist hub.
These agreements align with the Ministry’s broader strategy to enhance Oman’s transport infrastructure and boost economic growth.
