Around 6,000 residents in the Wilayat of Yanqul, located in the Governorate of Al Dhahirah, are expected to benefit from a new water network project currently nearing completion.
Implemented by Nama Water Services Company, the project has reached 95% completion and is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025.
According to Eng. Badr Salim Al Rabaani, Project Director, the initiative includes 590 water connections for housing units. It involves the construction of a 72.7 km water distribution network using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, alongside a 1.9 km main distribution line made of ductile iron (DI) pipes.
The project also features the construction of a pumping station equipped with three pumps and four connection points to link existing pipelines. Additional infrastructure includes fire hydrants, isolation valves, air release and flush valves, pressure monitoring points, and water line crossings at valleys and roads.
The Yanqul water project is part of a wider effort by Nama Water Services Company to expand water service coverage across several governorates. These projects aim to enhance the sustainability of water resources and ensure reliable access to potable water for communities across Oman.
