Oman’s proposed bus manufacturing unit, which is currently being built at Salalah Free Zone (SFZ), is likely to begin production by the end of 2020.
MT Asia launched the website of the bus factory, which will be located in Salalah Free Zone (SFZ). The project costs $50 million.
Ali bin Mohammed Tabuk, CEO of Salalah Free Zone said that the company intends to start the project in the last quarter of 2020 with an annual production capacity of 1,000 buses of all sizes and with high-quality European technology.
He added that these buses will be exported to the Gulf, African and Middle Eastern countries, as well as to the local markets due to their high quality and competitive prices. He added that the factory will provide 250 job opportunities for job seekers, 40 per cent of the total number of the factory’s employees.
In his statement, the CEO of Salalah Free Zone also touched on some projects in the zone, noting that the construction work has started in Felix Pharmaceutical Industries, which is expected to start operation during the end of 2020, alongside the steel products factory and Salalah Logistics city. The construction work will begin during the coming days.
