Oman produced 599.76 million eggs in 2024, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, marking a 2% increase over 2023 and signaling continued growth in the country’s poultry sector.
The rise in egg production is part of a broader national strategy aimed at enhancing food security and boosting domestic output. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources credits the increase to strategic planning and the adoption of modern technologies across agriculture, fisheries, and water resource sectors.
From 2019 to 2022, total food production in Oman grew from 3.9 million tonnes to 4.7 million tonnes, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 6.4%. During the same period, the value of food production rose by 9.6%, increasing from RO958 million to RO1.261 billion.
