Solar solutions provider Green Essence Lebanon is installing one of the largest privately owned solar farms in the market at a cost of $2 million. The farm which is in Qaa el Rim, Bekaa will measure 5,000 m2.
Berdawni Water, a bottling factory owned by Ghassan Saliba, will develop the solar farm in three phases. “Each phase constitutes the construction of 1,000 panels,” said Green Essence Lebanon partner Saad Maakaroun.
The first phase will end this month, the second by the end of the summer, and the third by mid next year. The project will use net metering techniques.
By the end of the third phase, the solar farm is expected to generate one megawatt, which is equivalent to the power generated by the Beirut River Solar Snake.
