Goods worth $2.4 billion were exported to Iraq during the first five months of the Iranian calendar year, started March 20, said an official in charge of Iraq commercial affairs in Iran Trade Development Organization.
Addressing the seminar themed 'Iraq's commercial opportunities' in this western provincial capital city, Majid Qorbanifaraz put the value of the total exports to the Arab state last year at $5.2 billion, with $1.06 billion belonging to the export of engineering services.
Meanwhile, head of Sanandaj Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Mohammad Saeed Naqshiaadian said the two countries enjoy many cultural, social and religious commonalities.
