The ICE-Italian Institute for Foreign Trade is a government organization that helps Italian companies in finding export markets around the world. “We at ICE provide a wide range of services in this regard including financial support and guidance to Italian companies in case they wanted to participate in international fairs,” said Amedeo Scarpa, Head of Consumer Goods Division in Rome to ifpinfo.
The Italian pavilion is one of the biggest pavilions participating in Project Lebanon 2012. 27 Italian companies are displaying goods varying from wooden doors, windows and shutters, kitchen and bathroom taps and luxury showerheads, single lever mixers, traditional taps and bathroom accessories, locks, marble and stones and their relative machines, elevators, crusher machines, mixers and dumping machines and many more.
“I consider Project Lebanon a great opportunity for Italian companies to find business partners not only in Lebanon but the whole Middle East through Lebanese traders who have the incentive and the connections in the countries of the region. If we really want to guide the Italian companies that want to enter the Middle Eastern markets, we should tell them to go to Lebanon; it’s the only door to enter the greater market in the addition to the Lebanese market,” said Scarpa. “This is the 4th consecutive year, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Lebanon, ICE is organizing this collective participation of Italian companies. Last year or earlier, we had more Italian companies taking part in the Italian pavilion. This year, we have fewer companies, but you know why? Most of the companies that participated in previous shows already have found agents or business partners in Lebanon and they are taking part as independent exhibitors. This is the best testimonial anyone can give about Project Lebanon,” added Scarpa.
Today, Thursday 7 June, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, an official Italian Day will be held at exhibition hall 1.
