QATAR is making all efforts to complete the major infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels carriageways and inter-sections by 2017, according to Ian Flynn, principal bridge design engineer at KBR Construction and Engineering Expressway Department and Infrastructure Affairs. Flynn said all major projects associated with the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be ready by 2017.
He said the targeted projects include 400 bridges and tunnels, 900 kilometer carriageways, 240 intersections and 31 other projects.
“It is essential that we work to deliver all these projects on time. When we started the projects, we analyze client expectations to ensure that we meet our deadline. We believe that approaches like reducing construction time for building a bridge could really make a huge difference in meeting our completion deadline,” Flynn said.
KBR Construction and Engineering, a US group, currently handles construction of 30 expressway projects in Qatar.
