Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani met with Greece’s Minister for Development and Investment Spyridon-Adonis Georgiadis in the Greek capital, Athens.
The meeting touched on bilateral trade and business relations and ways of enhancing them.
The meeting was attended by QC Board Member Rashid bin Nasser Al Kaabi and Qatar Ambassador to Greece Abdulaziz Ali Al Nama.
Sheikh Khalifa said that the private sector in both countries play a key role in enhancing economic relations through developing joint cooperation, noting that their bilateral trade achieved a qualitative leap this year amounted to QR333m during the first half of this year, compared to QR300m last year as a whole.
He also assured that the Qatari private sector is interested to get acquainted with the investment opportunities available in Greece to build alliances with its Greek counterpart and forge joint ventures whether in Qatar or in Greece.
He noted that there 65 Qatari-Greek companies working in the Qatari market in several sectors such as trading, contracting engineering, industrial consultancies, cargo, marine services, and decoration.
Both sides have a strong will to enhance their commercial alliances and establish more joint companies, whether in Qatar or Greece.
