Qatar has completed 98% of construction work at its new $15.5 billion Doha international airport project, Doha-based Asharq daily reports citing an executive.
Work is proceeding as scheduled and the airport is expected to open on Dec. 12, Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways, told the paper.
The new airport will have an annual accommodation capacity of 50 million passengers and is expected to provide about 50,000 job opportunities, the daily reports.
