Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari yesterday discussed ways of enhancing trade and economic cooperation with a delegation of Ukrainian industrialists which was led by the Head Representative of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Qatar, Mykhailo Lukashev.
The meeting was also attended by several Ukrainian and Qatari businessmen.
Cooperation ties between the Chamber and Ukrainian Union were also discussed.
Al Kuwari said the Qatari business community is interested in identifying opportunities available in various sectors in Ukraine, affirming that there is a scope for both sides to strengthen cooperation in many areas for the good of both economies.
He also stressed the Chamber’s support for all efforts aiming to develop trade cooperation between both countries, adding that the chamber would inform its members on investment opportunities available in Ukraine. He also assured the Chamber’s preparedness to help Ukrainian investors willing to invest in Qatar and participate in projects being implemented in Qatar.
For his part, Lukashev said that there is a wide range of cooperation fields with the Qatari private sector. noting that there is a joint desire towards deepening trade and economic ties between both countries.
He also noted that the Ukrainian government-endorsed various laws and legislation that contribute to attracting more foreign investments and adopted measured that help in streamlining businesses.
He also pointed out that Ukraine is replete with promising investment opportunities for foreign investors, especially that the Government is interested in enabling the private sector to implement many large-scale projects.
Food security is on the top of priorities of Ukraine. he said, noting that there are many opportunities in the energy and IT sectors.
