A subsidiary of Qatar’s Al Faisal Holding Company has added another international hotel property to its growing portfolio, this time in the US city of Chicago, as per company statements.
This step is in line with the entity’s goal to accumulate a portfolio of 25 hotels by 2020 in prime locations around the world. This move increases the number of hotels Al Faisal has under operation or under development to 18 properties.
Al Faisal, which last year bought the W Hotel in London’s Leicester Square for a reported US$ 313 million, acquired the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago through the US development arm of its subsidiary Al Rayyan Tourism and Investment.
The Chicago hotel is operated by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, includes 334 rooms and is located in the heart of Chicago, near the financial district.
Established in 1964, Al Faisal’s main fields of activity include real estate property investment, development and management; civil and electromechanical contracting for building, infrastructure and power plants projects; local truck transportation services, sales of aircrafts; aircraft management services; repair and maintenance services; ownership and operation of petrol stations, universities, schools, restaurants and shopping malls.
