The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in Qatar participated in the celebration of Gulf School Health Day by distributing approximately 15,000 health awareness pamphlets in Arabic and English to 321 government and private schools. The initiative aims to raise health awareness and promote healthy lifestyles among students across all academic levels. Distribution is ongoing to reach all schools in the country.
The pamphlets covered important health topics, such as healthy eating, staying hydrated, sun safety, proper sneezing and coughing etiquette, physical activity benefits, and the risks of excessive screen time.
Dr. Salah Alyafei, Acting Director of the Health Promotion Department at MoPH, emphasized that the campaign supports the Third National Health Strategy 2024-2030, which focuses on enhancing population health and well-being. He stressed the importance of encouraging students to adopt healthy habits to build a health-conscious society.
Dr. Alyafei added that starting health education early is crucial for current and future generations. This initiative is part of ongoing collaboration between MoPH and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to maximize the impact of health programs.
Gulf School Health Day is an annual event that highlights health education for students, addressing critical issues in both school environments and Gulf communities to raise awareness and prevent health problems.
