Real estate transactions in Qatar grew 20.5% year-on-year to QR4.1bn in June, a reflection of increasing appetite for properties in a rapidly growing market.
According to Century 21 Qatar, the total number of transactions in the country in June was 856 compared with 669 in the same period last year.
The number of vacant and undeveloped plots registered in June 2013 stood at 664 with a value of QR1.08bn compared with some 444 transactions worth QR2.1bn in June 2012.
Villa segment recorded some 176 transactions worth QR0.86bn in June compared with 193 transactions (QR0.8bn) in the same period last year.
Some 14 transactions worth QR198mn were seen in the 'buildings' segment in June compared with 20 (worth QR212mn) in the same period in 2012.
Mixture of special use properties registered two transactions worth QR10mn in June this year compared with five in June, 2012 with a value of QR134mn.
"Residential complexes did not register any transactions last month while seven transactions were seen in this category in June last year," Century 21 said.
Doha registered real estate transactions worth QR1.7bn in June from QR1.6bn in May followed by Al Rayyan with QR0.8bn of which the previous month recorded QR0.7bn.
Al Shamal Municipality has seen real estate transactions valued at QR62mn in June as opposed to QR41mn in May.
Al Da'ayen has seen the highest growth in terms of real estate deals, which stood at QR0.5bn in June in as many as 184 deals compared with some 62 in May.
Al Khor recorded some 151 transactions in June compared with 56 in May.
According to Century 21 villa rental price in West Bay was the "highest" and ranged between QR20,000 and QR35,000. Al Waab remains the most popular area for medium to high income bracket with rents ranging between QR14,000 and QR26,000.
The lowest villa rental was seen in Al Dhakhira and Al Khor where it ranged between QR6,000 and QR12,000.
Premium office rental per square meter ranged between QR150 and QR220 a month.
The standard office space ranged between QR110 and QR140 (/sq m) a month, while budget office spaces were let between QR65 and QR100.
